How You Can Help
Homelessness in Scotland is a serious social issue influenced by housing shortages, high living costs, and systemic pressures on support services. To help address it, you can donate to or volunteer with local charities such as Shelter Scotland or grassroots community organisations that provide advice, shelter, and support to people without secure homes. Raising awareness by talking with friends, sharing information on social media, or advocating for affordable housing policies can reduce stigma and push for change. You might also consider supporting fundraising efforts, volunteering at food banks or shelters, or working with local councils and advocacy groups to promote policies that increase affordable housing and improve access to mental health and addiction services. Every action helps create a more supportive environment for those experiencing homelessness.
